Living in Times of Uncertainty
Uncertainty is a situation we often find ourselves in today with the current political state of affairs. We can either accept what we are told, ignore it, ride out the tide, or get fed up with this uncertainty enough to do something about it. Speaking about living in a time of perplexity, all of us have been impacted by these surroundings we find ourselves in. We do not know from day-to-day what things we may or may not encounter. Will what we hear be truthful or fake news? I am at this time extremely aware that I must learn to cope in this world of uncertainty. It brings on symptoms of stress, and related issues. How can our children survive this? How can we expect elders and senior citizens to cope with this obvious lack of integrity and truth that they that they have known most of their lives? We have gotten use to a manipulated society. We must stop, look, and listen to our heart. Hear what it's saying. First we must look at our reasons for existing in this world. We were first given life to love ourselves, others and to share this gift as we support others along their journey. We were all given a dream, a major definite purpose to guide us along our way going through this life. Our dreams and our plans for the future are still with us. If we stop dreaming, if we stop trying, we will have left undone the precious gift to the world which was to be shared by us. "Where there is no vision the people perish". To have a dream or goal and never act on it only leaves us and our families vulnerable to the "Demons of Uncertainty".
We must remember ultimately we are not in control. There is a divine presence in this universe however that is in control. We are simply vessels through which this Divine Spirit works and as long as we work with it, our lives will be in perfect balance or close to being in perfect balance. If we can't find a sense of reason for our life or a reason to go on, then life has an impossible road ahead. Our contribution to this world would never be realized thus leaving a huge void, leaving someone waiting for your voice, your actions, your share, to brighten their day or to stir up unforeseen possibilities they could have realized with your presence. When we know that life is meaningful and is a gift, we won't live it so loosely or take it for granted. I am reminded that there are two forces in this world the force that God's grace enables you to become what you were intended to become and that force that is keeping you from the greater good that you have to offer. This latter dark force is always struggling to win, we must realize that since this force is so strong within us, it must mean that we have value to the universe, that we have something not just ourselves but something others need to hear, something others need to know, to be exposed to. I am grateful to know that each of us has a purpose whether or not we realize what it is right now. It is never too late, for someone is waiting right now for your gift. Journey from this place of uncertainty and travel to a truthful, good and kind place while here on earth. Prayer and meditation can guide us to this wonderful place. Uncertainty is a situation which involves imperfect and or unknown information. It's a suspense, a constant battle of truth and lies and manipulation. How are we to cope in this situation? We must allow no one to make decisions for us when we are able to make them for ourselves. We must cultivate a real sense of self control.
May you find this prayer shared with me by my grandmother and my mom as comforting to you as it has been to me as you maneuver through this world we live in.
"Oh divine Spirit, surround me, guide and provide for me and protect and illuminate me in all that you allow me to do. Amen."
