awards ceremony at fourth-graders at robious elementary school
THEME: "CAN ONE PERSON MAKE A DIFFERENCE?"

- 06/20/2015
On June 10, 2015, I returned to Robious Elementary School present awards to five of the fourth graders, who had written top essays for the "How One Person Can Make a Difference" awards. I was also there to present to the entire fourth grade, a donation of $100.00 from the BPOS Foundation, to a charity of their choice. After presenting the awards and answering final questions from the students, I was shown the projects they prepared in the corridor near their classes. It was so gratifying to see how much interest and dedication went into these projects. After viewing them, I told them I would return next year to work with them on other civil rights issues and hopefully share my book with them, if it's completed by then.
- I thank all of the teachers, especially Jacqueline O'Toole and staff for their kindness and support. The students' choice of charity after serious consideration and consensus of all fourth grade students was Lila's Journey, in the name of Carrie and Lila Roarty, through CaringBridge. On June 15, 2015, a donation was made to them from the BPOS Foundation on behalf of the fourth grade class of Robious Elementary School.
Thank you for this opportunity to give on your behalf.
