PERSISTENCE AND PATIENCE

We are already in the month of October and we have just a couple months to go before the end of 2018. As we look over the months ahead, some of us may realize that much has gotten away from us and that we have not done nearly half of the things we set out to do. Do not give this lack of action a reason for not doing your best as you come in for the finish these last months: October, November, and December.
In these last months and next year let us visualize our work as though we were planting a Chinese bamboo tree. The lessons of the bamboo tree are about persistence and patience. It teaches us lessons about faith, perseverance, growth, and development. If you have ever planted something you realize that it requires water, fertile soil and sunshine. With most plants there is evidence of growth the first year, however with the bamboo tree we see nothing after the first year, there are no visible signs of growth above the soil. The second year, third year and the fourth year still nothing. By this time you begin to wonder if your tree will ever show up above ground. Is it dead or alive?
Don't despair it is working, however, you must be as persistent as you are patient. Know that you will get that bamboo tree eventually and lo and behold on the fifth year, the miracle happens. It grows 80 feet in 6 weeks. What a marvelous sight!
Was it growing all along? How come we did not see it? It was developing underground roots, so that it would be strong enough so when it did pop out of the ground, it would be strong enough to support the great height it would ascend.
.
The same principle is true for people. People who patiently toil for dreams and goals, building strong character, overcoming adversity and challenge grow to be strong and successful people. Suppose the farmer had dug up his little seed every year that it did not grow, what do you think would have happened to the bamboo tree? Of course, it's growth would have been stunted. The bamboo tree is a good example of the way human beings work at goals and challenges, it shows us what patience and persistence really is. A new project can be exciting but it is never easy. It may be slow and not showing any progress at all at first but, it takes patience and persistence, and eventually, we start to see a little bit of activity, and then the project shows itself as an unbelievable winner as the full-blown tree emerges.
What lesson can we learn from the Chinese bamboo tree? First we can learn to Never Give Up, the change may be slow but the change will come. In order for us to have success in life, we must have faith in ourselves, we must keep on reading and writing and sharing information. Just like the farmer who watered his plants, we must continue to plan our work and our business plans. We must study patiently to hone our craft, then we will have the success we've been looking for.
Don't give up just because you don't see some success in the first week or the first month of a job. Don't leave it before you give it your chance to explore it fully. We see that many people leave great jobs because they haven't given the job a chance to work or for them to work the job. Pursuing your dream is a sure thing as long as you hang in there, as long as you don't give up, you can't give up. The pot of gold may be just around the corner.
Why is this story so exciting? Because did you know that deep inside of every one of us is a bamboo tree just waiting to express itself. It wants to come through and is just waiting for you believe and give it a chance to fly high, to be the best person that you can be, to show you that you are worthwhile that you are worth it. My lesson is your lesson and that is start doing things differently, be persistent, and above all be patient. Your reality will come at the right time and in the right way.
So, let the end of the year prove to be your best months yet. You can do it if you say you can, if you believe you can, and if you worked hard and intensified your plan you could have anything you desired. Go For It!
God bless you and may the blessings be.
