WAYNESBORO-STAUNTON NAACP FREEDOM FUND BANQUET - STAUNTON, va
June 15, 2012

On Friday, June 15, 2012, Mrs. Rice was the keynote speaker for the Waynesboro-Staunton NAACP's 33rd Annual Freedom Fund Banquet. The affair was held at the Holiday Inn Conference Center in Staunton, Virginia. Several hundred were in attendance as she spoke on the theme, "Your Power, Your Decision, Vote". Mrs. Rice spoke of the importance of this theme in her life as a civil rights activist as she had to define the power, the make the proper decisions in her actions that made a difference in her life and the lives of others as a member of The Richmond 34.

She concluded her speech by emphasizing the need to be aware of the political climate in an election year and to exercise the opportunity to vote for the president of your choice in this November election. She encouraged young persons turning 18 and other adults to register and vote, realizing this ageless mandate was stressed by the NAACP from their earliest existence to "exercise the vote and register others to do the same."

Mrs. Rice is available to speak at your functions on a variety of topics. All inquiries will be considered. Please contact us here.
